Twinhead Power Slim 600Twinhead Power Slim 600

This 2-kg slim notebook from TwinHead is based on a P-II 333 MHz processor and has 64 MB SDRAM, which can be expanded up to 192 MB. The 12.1-inch active matrix display is supported by a Trident Cyber9525 graphics chip with 2.5 MB of video RAM, and gave average results. The built-in Toshiba 24x CD-ROM drive is detachable and you can use the bay for an additional battery or a floppy drive. An external 1.44 MB floppy drive (provided) can be hot-plugged into the rear of the notebook.

One of the most impressive features of the notebook is the Lithium Ion battery that comes with a built-in power status indicator, which activates at the touch of a button at the front panel. The notebook does not need to be switched on for this. However, even the maximum volume is not loud enough for presentations. Communications are handled by a built-in 56K modem, and interface ports including USB, parallel, serial, IRDA, PS/2 (for an external keyboard or mouse), and VGA out for an external monitor. There is one PCMCIA slot for a Type II PC card.

With commendable performance, good build quality and extensive features, the Twinhead is a good choice as a desktop replacement.
